Don’t leave it to the Court to decide on your medical treatment

Don’t leave it to the Court to decide on your medical treatment

In what some would call a troubling decision, the Court of Protection has ruled that a care home resident who lacks capacity should be vaccinated, against her son’s wishes.

In the judgement handed down, the Court stated that “vaccines are safe”, and this is no doubt likely to cause alarm and upset amongst many vaccine damaged individuals.

Given the Covid vaccines have been produced at speed, various groups and members of the public have questioned what long term side effects could arise years down the line from the vaccines, and if indeed they can be classed as safe at the moment with so much about possible future side effects being unknown.

Indeed the Vaccine Adverse Event Report in the USA now has well over 3,000 adverse events noted on it. Added to this 33 people, all elderly, died in Norway shortly after being given the vaccine, and the CDC itself has reported that the rate of anaphylaxis events after the Pfizer or Moderna vaccination work out to 11.1 cases out of 1 million, compared to 1.3 cases per 1 million for the flu vaccine. Almost 9 times higher.

With so much unknown about long term side effects many people wish to wait until more is known about the vaccines that have been developed, before considering having one.

If you are one such person we highly recommend that you make an LPA for health and welfare and include your wishes about not being vaccinated if this is how you feel. This is the only way you can be sure of having someone you trust advocate for you if you lose capacity.
