What our clients say

Where necessary we offer home visits around the Huntingdon area, allowing you to discuss private and personal matters in the comfort of your own home. We pride ourselves in giving independent advice; especially to our older or more vulnerable clients. Our clients best interests are at the forefront of all our work, ensuring that we respect dignity. All advice is kept confidential.

Our Wills and Probate Partner is a CILEx Probate Practitioner and a member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) having been awarded the Older Client Care in Practice qualification. SFE members are experienced in, and specialise in, a wide range of legal issues affecting older and vulnerable people. To be a member of SFE a lawyer must have spent a substantial amount of their time working for older and vulnerable clients and must also fulfill the SFE’s own criteria for membership.

Although Wills Jacobsen are based in Broughton, Huntingdon; we serve clients in the surrounding areas of Warboys, Fenton, St Ives, Somersham, Chatteris, Bluntisham, Hemingford and Godmanchester as well as further afield in Cambridgeshire, East Anglia and around the UK.

So you are fully informed about our costs we would like to let you know that whilst we do not offer a free interview service for any work we undertake, we do operate a face to face fixed fee scheme which is £60 (including VAT) for a 1 hour advice session in the following areas:-

1. Obtaining Probate
2. Intestacy Issues
3. Administering an estate
4. Mental Capacity Issues

The above areas are the only areas covered by the face to face fixed fee scheme. Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trust Deeds, Deeds of Variation, and all other areas of work not mentioned above, are not covered by the scheme. As such, you will be charged for meetings about these areas if you decide not to instruct us to draft documentation for you after we have met you.

To take advantage of the face to face fixed fee scheme, the advice you seek must fall within the above areas numbered 1 to 4, and you must ask to be enrolled on the scheme when you book your appointment. We will then be able to tell you what you need to do to take advantage of the scheme.

We look forward to assisting you soon.

Jan 22, 2021 | LPA,  vaccination
In what some would call a troubling decision, the Court of Protection has ruled that a care home resident who lacks capacity should be vaccinated, against her son’s wishes. In the judgement handed down, the Court stated that “vaccines are safe”, and this is no doubt likely to cause alarm and upset amongst many vaccine […]
